Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Warped Pixel Dungeon is free to download and the dungeon is free to play in full: every floor, item, hero and ending, with no ads and nothing behind a purchase. The optional supporter subscription described below funds continued development, and covers one service that costs money to run: connecting players who are not on the same network, through a relay the developer pays for. Playing with someone on your own network is free for everyone.
The game
Warped Pixel Dungeon ("the game") is developed by GabriWar and released as free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3. It is built on Shattered Pixel Dungeon by Evan Debenham, which is in turn based on Pixel Dungeon by Watabou, and includes work from several other Pixel Dungeon forks credited in the game and its source repository.
You may use, study, modify and redistribute the game under the terms of the GPLv3. The complete source is published at github.com/GabriWar/warpedpd.
Supporter subscription
The game offers an optional monthly supporter subscription. It is a way to fund development, not a way to buy power: no gameplay advantage, level, item, hero or area is sold, and the entire dungeon remains available to all players for free. What it covers is the relay that connects players who are not on the same network, which carries a monthly bill. Local network multiplayer is not part of the subscription and never will be.
- What it is: Warped Pixel Dungeon Supporter, offered at several monthly pledge levels so you can choose how much to contribute.
- Length: one month per period, renewing automatically.
- Price: shown in your local currency on the supporter page inside the game before you confirm anything, as reported by the store you bought it from (Google Play or the App Store).
- What supporters get: a room code that connects them to distant players, plus a voice in what gets built — a vote on upcoming features, priority handling of bug reports, input on balance and design decisions, and early access to new builds as they are prepared.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
- Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically each month at the price of the tier you selected, until you cancel. On the App Store, auto-renew must be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.
- Google Play: manage or cancel at any time in the Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions, or from the "Manage subscription" button on the supporter page. App Store: manage or cancel in your device's Account Settings. Cancelling stops future charges; the current period runs to its end.
- Supporter status is verified against your store receipt and ends when the subscription lapses.
- Refunds are handled by the store that processed the payment, under its own policy. The developer cannot issue store refunds directly.
Purchases made through Google Play are governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and its refund policy. Purchases made through the App Store are additionally governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
Fair use
The game includes optional co-op multiplayer: over your local network, free for everyone, or through the developer's relay with a room code, which comes with the supporter subscription. When you play with others, do not use it to harass other players or to interfere with their devices. On a local network the session runs directly between the players' devices. Online, it is carried by a relay the developer runs, which forwards bytes between the two players without reading them; the developer therefore cannot see, moderate or intervene in what happens inside a session. The relay is provided as-is and may be rate limited, interrupted or withdrawn at any time — nothing you paid for depends on it, and local play never touches it. Do not use the relay to move traffic that is not a game session.
No warranty
As stated in the GPLv3: the game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the game, including loss of save data. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the game evolves. The date at the top is revised when they change, and material changes are noted in the in-game news feed. Changes to subscription pricing or benefits take effect only from the next billing period, and the store will ask you to confirm any price increase before it applies.
